If you are a College or University student (Undergraduate or Graduate), a High School student, this article is for you. If you have a job, or if you are unemployed, this article is for you.
Everyone needs to study. Everyone should study hard.
Knowledge created by human society is just like the Ocean, rich, broad and endless. However, our capability to learn has limitation. Any one of us only can know very limited portion from this Knowledge Ocean. However, the more you learn, the cleverer you will be. An ancient famous scholar 荀子 wrote in his famous article 《劝学篇》:“君子博学而日参省乎己,则知明而行无过矣”。Translate it into English is: “As long as a gentle-person study hard and learn broad knowledge, and review him/her action frequently, then that gentle-person will be wise, intelligent, and make fewer mistakes.
There is one idiom: “学无止境”。 It says that you should never put a stop on your study. Yes, no matter how excellent your current study result is, no matter you have received your bachelor degree, or master degree or PH.D degree, there is no excuse that you can put a stop sign on your study. When you reached one level on your study, there will be always a higher level waiting for you. When you become an expert on one field, you might consider study another interesting field. Your friends are marching forward on their studies, the world is marching forward, and you should be also marching forward on your study.
If you are a teacher, nothing can stop you teaching. If you are a student, nothing can stop you study. Even in the emergency situation, such as swine (H1N1) flu, teaching/study can be continuing by using advanced online education system (By using online education system, teacher can teach from home, while students can attend class from home in the case of swine flu outbreak).
